# Creating an App List Once you’ve named your preset, you’re all set to create an App List. To get started press the **"Edit"** button. ![[CleanShot 2026-07-15 at [email protected]]] ## Assigning App List Type Each preset requires you to choose one of three App List types: **"Allow all unlisted apps"**, **"Block all unlisted apps"**, or "**Tint all unlisted apps."** Your choice determines the default behavior of all apps and which specific apps remain accessible during your session. Everything else is blocked until the session ends. ![[CleanShot 2026-07-15 at [email protected]]] ### Option 1: Allow all unlisted apps "**Allow all unlisted apps"**, allows all apps by default. Meaning, you need to add specific apps to your list that you want to block. ### Option 2: Block all unlisted apps "**Block all unlisted apps**" restricts all apps by default. Meaning, you need to add specific apps to your list that you want to allow. ### Option 3: Tint all unlisted apps "**Tint all unlisted apps**" tints all apps by default. Meaning, you need to add specific apps to your list that you want to allow without the tint. ## Adding Apps Once you've selected your App List type, you're ready to build your list. Click **“Add App”** to browse and select from the apps already installed on your Mac. You can select multiple apps at once by holding the Command key. When you’re finished, click **“Done”** to save your list. To remove app(s) from the list, simply select it and click **"Remove"**. ![[CleanShot 2026-07-15 at 12.39.35@2x 1.png]] In the example above News, Messages, Games, and Mail will be blocked, while all other apps on your computer will be accessible during an active session. ## Assigning App Permissions Once app(s) are added to your list, you can assign their permission. Depending on the default behavior you're using, your app’s permission options will vary. | App List Type | App Permissions | | ----------------------- | --------------- | | Allow all unlisted apps | Block or Tint | | Block all unlisted apps | Allow or Tint | | Tint all unlisted apps | Block or Allow | ![[CleanShot 2026-07-15 at [email protected]]] ### Block **"Block"** prevents access to the app until you complete the session. ![[CleanShot 2026-07-15 at [email protected]]] ### Tint **“Tint”** grants access to the app, but its visibility will be altered, making it somewhat unpleasant to look at. You can control how annoying you want it to be by setting the opacity level and color of the tint. ![[CleanShot 2026-07-15 at [email protected]]] ![[CleanShot 2026-07-15 at [email protected]]] The idea is that you can still access the app if you really need to, but it prevents you from spending too much time engaging with it. ### Allow **“Allow”** grants unrestricted access to the app.
